Розглянуто сутність психологічної готовності до материнства та особливості її формування, визначено можливі мотиви материнства та проаналізовано складові психологічної готовності до материнства. Зазначено, що у кожної жінки, залежно від її індивідуальних особливостей, віку, стосунків із близькими та рідними людьми, а особливо від стосунків з матір’ю, мотивів материнства та залежно від наявності та розвитку кожної із зазначених складових, залежить рівень психологічної готовності до материнства.Recently, the problem of motherhood has become rather topical in our society, first of all, because of the decrease in the birth rate and the increase in the number of women who abandon their newborn babies. Modern future mothers are psychologically unprepared to fulfill their important function – motherhood, possess distorted ideas about the mother-child relationship, formally treat the mother’s status. Therefore, this problem is of great significance. The article is dedicated to the study on the problem of psychological readiness for motherhood. The essence of psychological readiness for motherhood and the peculiarities of its forming have been considered. The possible motives behind motherhood have been determined and the components of psychological readiness for motherhood have been analyzed.
