To offer a variant of stimulation and development of investment activity in Ukraine, which will correspond to modern tendencies of investment policy of the developed countries of the European Union. The models of investment policy of Germany and France are considered. As a general feature of the German model of investment, one can distinguish: the lack of a single law and authority regulating investment activity in Germany; complicated conditions for penetration into the market of new firms and so on. As the main distinguishing features of the French model of regulation of investment processes, one can distinguish the following: the lack of a single law regulating investment activity in France; low level of control over foreign companies operating in the country and so on. The main methods of regulating investment activity in France and Germany are: regulation (support or limitation) of total investment (this is the main method of managing the investment process, which is implemented through a policy of interest rate, monetary, tax and depreciation policy); selective stimulation of investment in certain enterprises, industries and activities through credit and tax benefits, for example, with the help of an investment loan; direct administrative intervention in the investment process for the purpose of input or output of certain production capacities by coordinating the plans and actions of the largest corporations.
