On the basis of the study, the author's position on the interpretation of the concept of "payment system" is formed. The author substantiates the classification principles for distinguishing different types of payment systems and systematizes them. The current state, trends in the development of payment systems and their capacity, as well as the workload of payment systems in Ukraine are analyzed. The peculiarities of cross-border transfers of currency values from Ukraine during martial law in Ukraine are outlined.
