Важливим критерієм якісного перекладу юридичних текстів є спеціальна підготовка перекладача, його компетентність та ерудиція. Метою дослідження є аналіз існуючої практики і проблем юридичного перекладу, визначення особливостей та способів перекладу англійської юридичної термінології.The scientific problem of English legal terminology translation is connected with specificity studying of official business language, research of origin tendencies and use of terms in legal texts, revealing the basic ways of legal terms translation. An important criterion for quality translation of legal texts is the professional translator training, his competence and erudition. The aim of the study is to analyze the existing practice and problems of legal translation, to determine the features and methods of English legal terminology translation. All legal texts are filled with specific legal terms, abbreviations and idioms. Many of these terms and definitions have a huge variety of interpretations, depending on the context. The activities of a legal translator require special training, skills and abilities. A legal translator must be a universal specialist. The training of a legal translator should cover all types and methods of translation. Legal terms that represent professional concepts in official business language are an essential component of legal texts and one of the main difficulties of their translation given their ambiguity, lack of translation equivalents and national variability of terms. For the correct translation of legal terms it is important to know its word-forming and morphological structure and semantic differences from commonly used words. The main stylistic features of official business, legal texts are: accurate and clear material presentation, the absence of elements of emotional speech. The main emphasis is on the logical rather than the emotional side of the material presentation. Legal vocabulary - is a kind of special vocabulary, because due to the specific communicative-functional orientation. It is at the junction of two language functional styles: official-business and scientific-technical. The translation of official business materials depends on the correct translation of legal vocabulary terms. In our research it is identified the legal terminology ways of translation, namely: loan translation, transcription, equivalent translation, descriptive translation and explication.
