The author emphasizes that under the current conditions of market economy, efficiency of an enterprise, expressed in terms of its market competitiveness, quantity and quality of production output, greatly depends on the quality of financial activity management. The author analyzes economic nature of the category of «financial activity». According to the obtained data the author concludes that foreign as well as Ukrainian researchers tend to analyze the abovementioned notion in the following dimensions: monetary and other financial intermediary activity; business activity; system of managerial measures; system of business forms and management methods; system of financial interrelations; business processes management etc. These ambiguities are caused by lack of terminological accuracy in normative and regulatory documents.
