Необхідність у вимірі частот виникає в багатьох областях науки і техніки, та особливо часто – в радіоелектроніці, яка охоплює в елику область електричних коливань від інфранизьких до надвисоких частот включно. Для вимірювання частоти сигналу використовується частотомір. Частотомір є вимірювальним приладом, який визначає частоту періодичних процесів або гармонійної частоти спектраль ного сигналу. Всі прилади поділяються на 2 основні види: електровимірювальні, радіовимірювальні. Електровимірювальна група – аналоговий стрілочний, вібраційний, електронно - лічильний, деякі конденсаторні пристрої. Радіовимірювальна група – резонансний, гете родинний, конденсаторний, деякі електронно - лічильні прилади.One of the most important characteristics of the periodic process is the frequency, which is determined by the number of complete cycles (periods) of oscillations per unit time interval. The need for frequency measurement arises in many areas of science and tech nology, and especially often in radio electronics, which covers a large area of electrical oscillations from the infrared to ultrahigh frequencies inclusive. Frequency meter is used to measure the signal frequency. Frequency meter is a measuring device tha t determines the frequency of periodic processes or the harmonic frequency of a spectral signal. All devices are divided into 2 main types: electric, radio measuring. Electricity measuring group – analog switch, vibration, electron - counting, some condenser devices. Radio measuring group – resonant, heterodyne, condenser, some electronic counting devices. When constructing modern frequency meters, the methods of measuring the frequency of direct reference became the most widespread. There are two modes of op eration of such frequency meters: in the first mode, for the whole number of periods of the sample frequency, the number of periods of the measured frequency is calculated; in the second mode, the number of periods of the sample frequency is calcula ted for the whole number of frequency periods.
