Здійснено аналіз стану та розвитку відновлюваних джерел енергії у світі. Визначено основні пріоритети міжнародної політики та державної політики національної безпеки України. Досліджено можливості забезпечення енергетичної безпеки з урахуванням пріоритетності завдань для підвищення енергетичної ефективності країни. Виявлено потенціал розвитку відновлюваної енергетики України. Доведено прогнозні тенденції зростання частки відновлюваних джерел енергії у структурі загального первинного постачання енергії.The energy industry of any country is the basis of the national economy, which directly influences the production and fulfilment of society’s needs for energy carriers. The article highlights the importance to develop the national economy in the context of assuring energy security, which is the basis for all sectors of the economy, proves the priority of renewable energy development on a global scale and emphasizes the need to replace traditional fuel and energy resources with renewable energy. It also justifies the considerable potential of Ukraine’s renewable energy sector, which is more than 98.0 million tons per year. Ukraine’s commitment to the Energy Community regarding the implementation of a Directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources requires 11% increase in its share in final consumption by 2020. This leads to a gradual increase in installed capacity of renewable energy sources. The article analyses target quantitative indicators expected to be achieved through the production of renewable energy sources in final energy consumption, determines the main criteria for developing Ukraine’s fuel and energy complex and specifies the key sectoral relations of energy balance in the country. Research findings include the projected trends in increasing the share of renewable energy sources in the structure of total primary energy supply, as well as the main ways for realizing strategic goals to develop renewable energy sources.
