Надмірне безробіття негативно відображається на всій економіці країни, саме тому вивчення цього питання на сьогодні є актуальним.The main purpose is to investigate main reasons effects of unemployment and to develop proposals for reducing the negative effects of this phenomenon in Ukraine. Unemployment in Ukraine appeared with process of transition to a market economic system, and it is dominant hidden form. The predominant type of unemployment in Ukraine is cyclical unemployment. The main difficulty in determining scale of cyclical unemployment hidden unemployment (people who are on vacation at his own expense or those who are not longterm wage). Structural unemployment is associated with the transition for a new type management, changes in consumer demand and technology. It is extremely a negative sign is constant growth and increasing unemployment duration within unemployed persons who are out of work for a long period.
