dc.description.abstractУ статті розглядається поняття «військовий термін» та розкриваються основні особливості репрезентації німецьких військових термінів в перекладі. Проведено аналіз основних принципів, способів та прийомів перекладу військової термінології. Виявлено найбільш поширені стратегії та способи перекладу військових термінів. Військова термінологія розглядається як окрема лексична категорія. Окрема увага приділяється структурі військових термінів.
dc.description.abstractThe article discusses the concept of "military terminology" and explores the main features of translating German military terms. It analyzes the basic principles, methods, and strategies of translating military terminology. The article identifies the most common strategies and approaches to translating military terms currently used in practice. Military terminology is considered a separate lexical category with its specific characteristics. It covers a wide range of concepts related to military affairs, weapons, tactics, strategy, ranks, equipment, and the organization of armed forces. Due to the complex structure of military terms, their translation often requires not only an accurate rendering of meaning but also consideration of context, historical peculiarities, and linguistic norms of the target language. Special attention is paid to the structure of military terms. Many of them are complex words or phrases containing specialized components that may not always have exact equivalents in other languages. As a result, various methods can be used in translation, including calque translation, descriptive translation, the use of analogies, or combined approaches. The article also discusses the main difficulties associated with translating military terminology. These include the polysemy of some terms, the presence of abbreviations and acronyms, as well as the influence of cultural and national characteristics on the formation of military vocabulary. To achieve adequate translation, a comprehensive approach is necessary, involving the analysis of context, comparative studies of terms in different languages, and the application of appropriate lexical and grammatical transformations. Thus, translating military terms is a complex process that requires the translator to have not only linguistic nowledge but also a deep understanding of military affairs in general. Further research in this field is essential for improving translation methods and ensuring the accuracy and consistency of military terminology in international communication.
