Анотація
В статті розглядаються дидактичні, культурологічні та методичні передумови використання автентичних художніх текстів для формування соціокультурної компетенції студентів філологічних спеціальностей у процесі вивчення іноземних мов в аспекті міжкультурного спілкування на матеріалі оповідань письменників США ХІХ ст. Аналізуються приклади перекладу та інтерпретації етнографічних і топографічних реалій, що допомагають адаптації майбутніх філологів до іншомовної культури.
В статье рассматриваются дидактические, культурологические и методические предпосылки использования аутентичных художественных текстов для формирования социокультурной компетенции студентов филологических специальностей в процессе изучения иностранных языков в аспекте межкультурного общения на материале рассказов писателей США XIX в. Анализируются примеры перевода и интерпретации этнографических и топографических реалий, которые помогают будущим филологам адаптироваться к иноязычной культуре.
The article deals with didactic, cultural and methodological background of using the authentic literary texts in the process of formation of socio-cultural competence of students of philological specialties in terms of intercultural dialogue on the material of fiction of the 19th century American writers. The author of the article is researching the problem of education of globally-oriented personality of future specialists on philology. It is stated that one of the components of such personality is a social and cultural professional competence, which involves the development of the ability to understand the cultural peculiarities of different nations, verbal and nonverbal behavior in typical speech situations. It is determined that students must acquire geographic knowledge, including knowledge of the literature of ethnicity, language which they learn as well as the skills to understand the differences and similarities between different cultures, to analyze and comment on the culture and language of various countries. So called “socio-cultural education” can be realized through a system of critical, tolerant, creative and friendly attitude to others, to a new culture and to knowledge about the world. Socio-cultural education should be an integral part of communicative competence of future specialists and could help to enhance the general linguistic and literary outlook as well as to contribute to the formation of such important qualities as patriotism, respect for other cultures, a sense of cultural pride. It is proved that analysis and translation of the authentic literary texts helps to form the stock of background knowledge about national culture of the country of studied language. Besides the authentic literary text contains some layers of socio-cultural and aesthetic ideas of the writer that’s why the most important task of the translator is to render adequately the contents of it. In this context Language realias are of great importance. Language realias name the objects, geographical, historical and cultural notions of the nation. Ukrainian scientist R. Zorivchak defines realias as “mono- and polylexeme units, with lexical meaning containing (in the aspect of binary comparison) the traditionally assigned complex of ethnocultural information, unrelated for objective reality of receiver’s language”. It is stated that the problem of the translation of the language realias, is of great importance especially in the process of formation of sociocultural competence of future specialists on philology. As to the ways of realias rendering the article relies on the classification of the ways of realias translation carried out by Tomakhin: 1) Transliteration(or transcription); 2) Descriptive translation; 3) Fitted analogue; 4) Word for word translation (or Calque); 5) Transformational translation (use of generalization or concretization). In the article the examples of translation and interpretion of ethnographic and topographic realias are analyzed. It is proved that reading, interpreting and analysis of these realias help future philologists to adapt to the language and culture of countries language of which is being studied.
