dc.description.abstractIn the article the features of asymmetric antonyms in modern Ukrainian aphoristic texts are investigated. In an array of aforementioned antonyms, ideographically heterogeneous antonyms, antonyms with stylistic, stylistic heterogeneity, and contextual antonyms are singled out. The ideological heterogeneity of opposition in antonymic pairs can be manifested primarily in two types of semantic heterogeneity. The first type combines semantically heterogeneous antonyms whose values are not only contrasted on a certain basis, but also differ from each other by the presence / absence of a particular component (or components). The second type of ideographic heterogeneity combines semantically heterogeneous antonyms whose meanings are not identical, but of varying degrees of manifestation of mutually opposed qualities, attributes, and properties belonging to one entity. Antonyms with stylistic heterogeneity are opposite tokens, in the meaning of which various style connotations are revealed (belonging to colloquial, book styles). Antonyms with stylistic heterogeneity are opposite tokens, in the meaning of which various stylistic connotations (out-of-date, vulgarity, neglect, caress, etc.) are revealed. Typically, stylistic heterogeneity coincides with heterogeneous stylistic. Among the contextual antonyms presented in aphoristic texts, there are separate types, namely: contextual antonyms, which outside the context do not have the meaning of opposites in denotate; Contextual antonyms whose opposite is to some extent understood beyond the context as one of the members of the pair or both are lexemes associably converging with the members of the anonymous pair; Contextual antonyms that are out-of-the-eye in the universe, but in a certain text change meaning, become contextual.uk_UA
