This article explores the psycholinguistic foundations of associative learning in foreign language acquisition. It delves into the role of associations in language comprehension, highlighting the contributions of notable researchers like V. Humboldt and N. Chomsky. Associative learning, grounded in psycholinguistic principles, is framed as a process that enhances students' ability to memorize and utilize new language structures through personal experiences and associative experiments. Different types of associative experiments—free, directed, and chain—are discussed for their effectiveness in understanding the semantic structure of words. The article emphasizes the importance of individual learning styles, psycholinguistic abilities, and the relationship between associative processes and creativity in mastering foreign languages. The methodology presented supports the development of associative learning approaches in various educational contexts, particularly for younger learners.
