Дана наукова розвідка присвячена дослідженню психопоетикальної площини актуалізації архетипного мотиву дороги у малій прозі В. Фолкнера. З’ясовано, що в силу специфічного об’єкта зображення у творах американського письменника провідна роль відводиться хронотопному мотиву дороги. Проведено герменевтичний аналіз та психоаналіз низки яскравих та показових з позицій заявленої теми новел. Простежено специфіку реалізації індивідуально-авторських варіантів архетипного мотиву дороги. Доведено, що даний мотив у новелах В. Фолкнера наділений рядом концептуальних ознак. Зроблено висновок, що концепт дороги автор презентує на сторінках своїх творів і як реальний фізичний об’єкт, і як суб’єкт, через який розкривається внутрішній світ людини, система її духовних цінностей та актуальні психологічні реалії.
The research paper is dedicated to the study of the psychopoetical implementation of the motive of road in the short stories by W. Faulkner. The research shows that due to the specific object of the author’s attention the leading role in his short stories is given to chronotopic motive of road. The hermeneutics analysis and psychoanalysis some of the short stories were carried out. The specific features of the motive’s variants implemented by the writer were studied. As a result it was concluded that the motive of road in short stories by W. Faulkner owns the range of conceptual features which characterize it as either the object or the subject of depiction. In case of the latter it helps to reveal the inner world of the person, his/her spiritual values and the current psychological state.
