The article is devoted to the study of the role of nonverbal communication components that are used by the speakers in situations of communicative domination with social or situational preconditions. The strategy of non-verbal behavior of communicants with a lower social status that helps them to lead he conversation (to be in situational dominance) is analyzed. Socially predetermined communicative domination takes place when communicative influence is a manifestation of social power that is due to the social status of the addressee. Situationally constructed communicative domination takes place in situations where communicants are in horizontal social relations or one of them has a lower social role, but situationally acquires a higher communicative status with respect to the interlocutor. To achieve their goals, such individuals have to construct a relationship of domination directly in the course of the communicative process, resorting to forms of personal influence: appeals to their own situationally higher level of knowledge and possession of important information, violation of the principle of politeness, appeal to interpersonal relations with the interlocutor, and the exercise of psycho-emotional pressure. The conclusions confirm the role of voice modifications, the development of visual contact and distance of communication, the change of the position of the body in space, and so on. These and other non-verbal means are the basis for the stereotypical behavior of the communicatively dominant individual and are often used by communicants with lower social status to mask their real positions.
