Узагальнено погляди науковців на сутність інноваційного потенціалу як економічної категорії. Розглянуто структуру
інноваційного потенціалу і можливості її удосконалення в контексті стратегічних цілей промислового підприємства.
The article generalizes the scientists' opinions on the essence of innovative potential as an economic category. Resource and behavioural approaches are underlined as the most important. Such innovative potential characteristic as an industrial enterprise's readiness to innovative changes is described as one of the most essential. The article also focuses on the structure of innovative potential of an industrial enterprise in the context of the strategic aims of innovative activity. It points out the possibility and reasonability of improving the resource element of innovative potential of a machine-building enterprise at the expense of its motivational component. The author discusses the key role of the top management in the development of market and interface components of innovative potential with the help of business partners.
