Анотація
Relevance of the work. The problem of US military-political alliances outside NATO is relevant in the context of real Russian aggression, when it is necessary to strengthen the country's defense capabilities, both on its own Armed Forces and Allied assistance, one of which may be related to the status of US major ally.
The first chapter of the work is devoted to the analysis of military-political alliances as a component of international relations, their features and capabilities, consideration of the main security challenges of the United States after the Cold War.
The second chapter examines the nature of US allied policy in strategically important regions in the post-bipolar period, with a special focus on the status of the main US ally outside NATO.
The third chapter reveals the main directions of security cooperation between Ukraine and the United States, discusses the possibilities and prospects for Ukraine to obtain the status of the United States' main ally outside NATO.
