dc.description.abstractУ статті представлена когнітивна природа феномену трагічного у художньому тексті, опис якого потребує залучення інструментарію концептуального аналізу, зокрема застосування лінгвокогнітивних операцій із теорії концептуальної метафори для визначення когнітивного підґрунтя трагічного. Визначено, що когнітивним підґрунтям формування трагічного в художньому тексті постають лінгвокогнітивні операції розгортання, спеціалізації й модифікації.uk_UA
dc.description.abstractThe article is devoted to investigation the cognitive nature of the tragic and verbal means of its creation in English literary texts by applying the linguo-cognitive approach to study the phenomenon of the tragic in British and American writer’s fiction. Peculiarities of the taken material increased the linguo-cognitive hand lining of the tragic phenomenon because of characterizing the national peculiarities that helps to describe writers’ intention to delve into the senses of the tragic. Revealing the tragic nature on the cognitive level determined the necessity of using linguo-cognitive operations and procedures for reconstruction the cognitive basis, cognitive instruments and mechanisms of the tragic phenomenon. The conceptual space of the tragic as an aspect of the respective world picture is claimed to be formed by literary concepts of the tragic as basic units of artistic cognition conditioned by understanding of the tragic in literary texts. The paper deals with the cognitive basis of the tragic phenomenon formation in writers’ literary texts via revealing the plethora of linguo-cognitive operations. Linguo-cognitive method of revealing the tragic phenomenon was considered to be predominant in the article. It has been proved that cognitive nature of tragic formation is based on the different types of poetic thinking, conditioned by the character of a myriad of linguo-cognitive operations. The cognitive operation of modification was preferably used in the creation of the images because it is aimed at the transformation of the conventional conceptual metaphor, which leads to the emergence of novel senses.uk_UA
